Moscow has been awarded the 2030 World Weightlifting Championships, according to the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). It is the first World Championships in Russia awarded by the federation since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Kazan was originally due to host the 2025 World Championships, but that event was moved to Singapore.
