Two explosives, believed to date from the Second World War, were found during work near a runway at Eindhoven Airport, on the military section of the site. The objects were initially described as two mortar bombs; a later report described one as a mortar grenade and the other as an as-yet unidentified object.
The Defence Explosives Disposal Service was called to remove or defuse the items. Air traffic at Eindhoven Airport is not affected.
