More than 60 Christians reportedly killed in Ethiopia attacks

More than 60 people were reportedly killed in attacks on Christians south of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia’s Oromia region, according to the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. Fourteen people were killed in an attack on Tuesday and 46 in attacks on three villages on Friday. Church leaders described the violence as a massacre and said at least 20 houses were set on fire, while many residents fled. The attacks were attributed to a rebel group seeking greater control for the Oromo people, although that attribution was not independently established.
