More than 10,000 Palestinians are estimated to remain missing in Gaza, many of them believed to be under buildings destroyed in Israeli bombardments during the war that began more than three years ago after Hamas attacks. Relatives and rescue workers continue trying to recover remains with limited resources, sometimes identifying people through jewellery, clothing or identity cards before burying them.
