Army personnel carried out a training exercise in Dronten, speaking with members of the public in and around the shopping centre. The exercise was intended to give a unit specialising in civil-military cooperation practice in engaging with civilians and assessing relations between the public and the military for possible future missions, including reconstruction work in conflict areas.

Some residents were initially surprised by the number of soldiers in the shopping area, while the reported reactions during the meetings were positive. The soldiers are scheduled to be present at various locations in Dronten during daytime until Thursday.
