Michel Öz becomes president of the Dutch Police Union

Police Commissioner Michel Öz has become interim chairman of the Dutch Police Union (NPB), succeeding Nine Kooiman. He is expected to lead the union for at least one year and is known as an outspoken critic of the reorganisation of the national police force. Kooiman has been vice-president of the FNV trade union since 1 May.
