A tile against senseless violence was installed in Piet Wiedijkpark in Amsterdam Nieuw-West after two Syrian boys were fatally shot there on New Year’s Day. The reports said the shooting followed a prank call by a YouTuber.

District chairman Nazmi Türkkol is due to unveil the tile at the shooting site on 5 November. The district said the decision to install it was made in consultation with the boys’ next of kin.
