Mark van Hoorn, 51, and Karin Tomassen, 57, left Amersfoort and emigrated to southern Spain with their 21-year-old son, Pablo, and their 10-year-old dog, Taco. They built a new life in a country house with many defects, rent out two apartments and organize trail runs for runners. A reporter visited the family and ran with them.

They said there is always a reason not to go.
