Maassluis refuses new asylum seeker reception places

Maassluis said it will not provide asylum seeker reception places in the second allocation round under the Distribution Act, maintaining the zero-reception position set out in its coalition agreement. The municipality acknowledged that it is obliged to do so under the law and said it wanted to signal that the national government should limit arrivals and that other municipalities should take responsibility.

The Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers said that the reception boats will remain in Maassluis.
