Argentina beat a Burkina Faso under-23 side 7-0 in a friendly. Burkina Faso’s senior squad had boycotted the match over travel problems, with all but one player refusing to board the plane, and the team was supplemented with under-23 players at short notice. Lionel Messi did not play in Argentina’s victory. The match was described as a warm-up for his planned farewell appearance on Tuesday.
