Several Dutch nature organisations sued the state over licences for shrimp fishing in protected natural areas. They argue that the licences last too long and lack additional nature-protection measures. The organisations include Vogelbescherming Nederland, Vereniging Natuurmonumenten and Stichting De Noordzee.

The case is due to be heard in Groningen on Monday.
