Collective lawsuit against Chemours over PFAS emissions

The PFAS Free Green Claim foundation launched a collective civil lawsuit against Chemours on behalf of about 550,000 residents of Dordrecht and surrounding areas. It seeks to hold the chemical company liable for PFAS pollution, obtain compensation for residents’ damages and require Chemours to stop PFAS emissions as soon as possible. One report said the claim includes €5,000 per person for lost enjoyment of their homes and seeks an end to emissions by the end of 2030.
Chemours said it had received the summons and would first assess its contents and specific claims before responding substantively. The company said it takes concerns in the area seriously and has taken steps to reduce emissions further.
