A major fire broke out at about 06:50 on Sunday at a car shop on Bleiswijkseweg in Zoetermeer. Fire crews from across the region responded, and an NL-Alert advised residents to avoid the smoke and keep windows and doors closed. The changing wind spread smoke over a wider area.

The fire is under control but has not yet been extinguished, and it is no longer spreading. Four people were taken to hospital after smoke inhalation. Nearby homes were evacuated, and police intervened when residents tried to reach the site; one person was arrested for insulting an officer, while another was taken to hospital for a medical check after being detained. The cause remains unclear.
