Landslide at illegal gold mine in Nariño

A landslide at an illegal gold mine in Colombia’s southwestern department of Nariño killed at least 14 people and injured seven others. An earlier death toll of nine was revised upward.

Emergency services are continuing to search for people missing beneath the rubble. One report said the mine was in the remote municipality of Santa Bárbara de Iscuandé and that about 30 people had been working there when the landslide occurred.
