The visit officially began on Monday with a ceremony at the presidential palace. In Astana, the couple visited a rehabilitation centre, where they spoke with children, and Filip addressed the Kazakh-Belgian Business Council, calling for deeper economic cooperation between the two countries. On the final evening in Astana, Filip and Mathilde attended a reception for Belgians living in Kazakhstan and their Kazakh partners. On Wednesday, the couple visited Almaty, where they tried archery and attended a performance by Brussels choreographer Ula Sickle at a contemporary art museum. The state visit then ended.
