Kim Wiersma, 27, left her hometown of Leeuwarden at 4 a.m. on Wednesday to walk to the Wadden Sea World Heritage Centre (WEC) in Lauwersoog. She was raising money for the WEC, which was reported to be facing bankruptcy.
