Kim ter Horst shares her recovery from an eating disorder

Kim ter Horst, 28, from Roosendaal, said she had struggled for years with anorexia and bulimia, including restricting her food intake and vomiting to control her weight. She said the problems began around the age of 15, after tensions surrounding her parents’ separation, and continued during art school. She later spent six months in a clinic in Goes and received further part-time treatment, but also experienced a relapse after moving to Breda.

Ter Horst said that two years ago, with the help of therapy, she decided to address the disorder and has since found other ways to deal with tension and pain. She now teaches at her own yoga school and works as a breath coach in Roosendaal. Her story is featured in the documentary *Enough*, made in collaboration with Stichting Kiem and available on Cinetree. She said she hopes it will help others with eating disorders recognize themselves in her experience and see that recovery is possible.
