The Ketelbrug over Lake Ketel was closed to road traffic in both directions during the evening and night for maintenance to the bridge’s road surface. The closure was scheduled to last until 06:00 on Monday. Cyclists, emergency services and public transport were allowed to use the road. Traffic was diverted via Kampen and the N50, adding at least 30 minutes to journeys. An access road near Urk was also closed as part of the works. On Monday morning near Nagele, several truck drivers reportedly moved fences at a closed A6 access road and ignored traffic controllers while trying to reach the motorway towards Lelystad. Rijkswaterstaat criticised their actions but acknowledged that communication about the closure could have been better. Heavy congestion was also reported on the Domineesweg near Urk at 06:00.
