Kenya confirmed its first Ebola case after a Kenyan man who had been living in the Democratic Republic of Congo died in Nairobi. He had travelled to Kenya via Uganda and was isolated in a Nairobi hospital after developing fever and severe bleeding; tests confirmed Ebola. One report identified the virus as the Bundibugyo variant. The Health Ministry said the man had contracted the virus in Congo. Kenyan authorities have begun tracing the source and the man’s contacts.
