Karin Amatmoekrim wrote the essay *Bound to Love*, in which she examines how Dutch society makes people with a migration background into “the other” and the consequences of that. She said she grew up feeling different, an experience that many people with a migration background recognize, and argued that migrants and native Dutch people love in the same way.
