The Kamperbrug in Emmeloord was closed to traffic for two weeks from Monday for renovation work. Loose parts of the bridge were causing noise, and the work involved securing and replacing them. The municipality expected the work to be completed on Friday afternoon, 13 November. A larger renovation is planned for 2028, while the movable section is due to be replaced in 2042; a completely new bridge is not considered necessary.
Traffic on the N50 and A6 had to detour via exit De Munt, the Muntweg and the Kuinderweg to the centre of Emmeloord. Traffic already in Emmeloord could use Amsterdam, Nagelerweg and Lange Dreef as an alternative route.
