Judge rejects claim over returned motorhome keys

A couple in Lelystad had lent a motorhome to a friend so her son could sleep in it. After the husband died earlier this year, his wife asked for the motorhome and its keys back. The friend said she did not have the keys, but later asked whether she could have replacements made. After her son received legal letters, he gave the keys to his mother, who returned them to the owner. The owner and her family remained unsure whether they were the original keys and brought the matter to court, seeking the return of any remaining keys and other measures.
The judge rejected the claim. The keys had been handed to the son when the motorhome was lent, because he was the person who would sleep in it. The judge therefore ruled that the son, rather than his mother, should have been asked to return them, meaning the wrong party had been sued. The proceedings have ended.
