The renovation of Amsterdam’s Jordaan Bridge, also known as bridge 117, is entering its final phase. Work on the north side of the bridge is expected to affect traffic on the Rozengracht and Marnixstraat. The bridge has been under renovation since the end of 2024 as part of the Oranje Loper project because its wooden foundation, dating from 1891, no longer meets requirements. The inside is being completely renewed, while the exterior is being refurbished while retaining its monumental character.
From 26 October, pedestrians will be able to cross the renewed bridge in both directions, and cyclists and cars travelling from the city centre towards the west will be able to use its northern section. Cyclists and cars travelling towards the city centre must continue to use the temporary auxiliary bridge or the designated bypass route. Trams are still unable to cross the bridge and are expected to resume doing so on 1 March 2027.
