Jimmy van Schie from Breda and Maikel Verberk qualified at the last moment for the European Tour tournament in Maastricht. Van Schie, a qualifier, advanced to the second day after surviving match darts against Belgian Kim Huybrechts and winning with a 116 finish. Verberk, from Herpen, was eliminated after making a comeback that was not enough to continue in the tournament.
