American television evangelist Jim Bakker has died at the age of 86, his wife, Lori Bakker, announced on Facebook. The cause of death has not been disclosed. Bakker became known in the 1970s and 1980s as the presenter of the Christian television program The PTL Club. He was later involved in a dispute over bribing churchgoers and false medical claims. He was previously married to Tammy Faye, who died in 2007; they also presented The 700 Club together between 1966 and 1973.
