Amsterdam poet Jessica de Jong published a poetry collection about Drenthe, a province she has visited since childhood. The collection, Drenthe .. Timeless poems, whisperings from the ancient land, includes poems about Beilen, Westerbork, Dwingeloo and Diever.

The poems cover nature reserves, villages and memorial sites in Midden-Drenthe. De Jong described Drenthe as the most beautiful province and said she came to understand why many artists had gone there.
