Singer Janneke Brakels, 40, from Deinum has reportedly made her debut as a writer with a children's book containing two stories: one in Frisian and one in Dutch. The book has a Frisian cover on one side and a Dutch cover on the other.

The book aims to encourage greater understanding between people by inviting readers to look at things from another perspective. Brakels said that people often face the same struggles and that showing interest in one another may help reduce conflict.
