FC Den Bosch attacker Jack de Vries scored his first goal of the season while his parents watched from the stands in Rijnsburg. His mother had come from the United States, and he has said that he tends to score when she visits.

De Vries has also spoken about recurring physical problems, for which he uses ice baths, saunas and special exercises. He once wanted to play despite seeing nothing with his left eye because of severe migraines.
