An Italian Chinook helicopter serving with the EUFOR peacekeeping mission crashed near Brčko in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The cause is under investigation.

The latest reported toll was four dead and 11 injured, according to local media cited in one report. Earlier reports, citing local authorities and the Italian news agency ANSA, had put the toll at three dead and 12 injured; one report said a fourth person later died. The nationalities of the victims have not been confirmed.
