Police are investigating whether an armed robbery at a jeweller on Dalkruid in Zeewolde on 10 July was arranged through a call on Snapchat. An anonymous tip indicated that people may have responded to such a call. Three people entered the shop, smashed display cases and stole dozens of watches, while staff took shelter in an office.
Police said surveillance footage showed that a fourth suspect waited outside with the scooter and fatbike used in the escape. A minor from Zeewolde was arrested after reporting himself to police and was later released under conditions. Watches linked to the robbery were found in a scooter in Almere Haven two days later after its rider escaped. The investigation is ongoing and police are seeking information about the robbery and those involved.
