German prosecutors said they suspect a criminal gang of smuggling gold on a large scale to launder criminal proceeds. Three people were arrested, while more than 20 people are suspected in total. Authorities searched buildings in Rotterdam and Friesland, as well as about 40 locations in Germany. The investigation remains ongoing.
