A police officer from East Brabant was barred from work while he is investigated on suspicion of sharing confidential information from police systems with people outside the police organisation. He is also suspected of searching police systems without a valid reason.

The police are conducting an internal investigation, while the Public Prosecution Service has opened a criminal investigation led by the police department for Security, Integrity and Complaints. The officer has not been arrested. It remains unclear what information was involved, with whom it may have been shared, and what his position is.
