Insurance fraud and a chat scam in Groningen

Two men in their twenties from Groningen were reported to have defrauded insurance companies for years using false identities, fake facial hair, a card printer and identity-document templates from a Polish website. They allegedly used dozens of bank accounts and obtained about €150,000 in insurance money.

Kruidvat’s Westerhaven branch in Groningen was also reportedly deceived through a chat scam, in which Apple gift cards worth €4,000 were taken. It was not reported whether this incident was linked to the two men.
