A 23-kilometre pipeline carrying industrial waste heat from the Rotterdam area is to be tested from Monday between Vlaardingen and The Hague. The heat network could eventually provide heating to 120,000 households in South Holland, potentially allowing them to stop using natural gas over the long term. Leiden is also named in connection with the planned network.
