The Nieuweweg in Hoogerheide is to receive wide red bicycle lanes and steeper raised crossing thresholds, measures intended to improve safety for vulnerable road users. New foundations and pavement are also expected to reduce vibrations for residents. The route is described as being prepared for the 2028 World Championships.
