A fire broke out around noon in a flat on Mayor Mosselstraat in Krommenie. The fire department responded with several vehicles and two ambulances. Three people were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation and burns to their legs; others who were present were taken in by family. A cat died in the fire, which was under control.

The fire caused extensive damage to the affected home, and it is still being assessed whether the apartment is uninhabitable. Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution. The fire may have started while a fatbike was being charged, but this is being investigated.
