For Mike Hansler’s 36th birthday, Veerle arranged a horseback-riding outing for the family. Peter, Mike and Veerle planned to ride at a gallop, while Monique had preferred to celebrate on a boat and was initially hesitant about getting on a horse. She later got into the saddle and, from a red plastic chair, laughed as Peter struggled to mount his horse.
