Animal park Hoenderdaell said it was not concerned about stricter rules for zoos. The park viewed increased scrutiny as an incentive and said it was already at the forefront of animal welfare, protection and conservation.

Hoenderdaell said its ambition was that its role would eventually no longer be needed, but that its reception function remained indispensable for the time being.
