European plan for insurance against climate damage
◆3 sources
European Commissioner for Climate Wopke Hoekstra said he would present a plan in Brussels to improve insurance coverage for climate-related damage through European legislation. He described it as the first planned European legislation in this area and called it a historic package.
Hoekstra said climate-related damage has become excessive and warned that, without action, it could become uninsurable. He said many more people need insurance coverage against such damage.
