The Shoe Quarter in Waalwijk is showing “Head over Heels,” an exhibition covering five centuries of high-heeled fashion. The display includes The Cube by Lady Gaga and stacked platform heels that are so high they cannot be walked in. Collection manager Carine van Vugt said high heels were once particularly practical but can now also be unbearable.
