Herman Finkers was named the greatest Twentenaar of all time on Saturday evening. Readers of De Twentsche Courant Tubantia and a professional jury selected the cabaret performer for the title.

Herman Finkers presented a revised reissue of Anne van der Meiden’s Twente Bible, Biebel in de Tweantse Sproake, after working on it for five years. The earlier edition was no longer available. Finkers said he had at times considered abandoning the work because of its scale. He described the Bible as important for the Twente language and said the project involved reading the book from cover to cover for the first time.
