Helmond Sport had dropped to second-last place after most of its rivals won on Monday. The club’s last victory came five matches earlier, while its run of draws had lasted even longer.

Helmond Sport was set to visit Jong AZ in a match that offered an early opportunity to change its fortunes during a schedule of three games in eight days. The outcome had not yet been reported.
