A district manager found a bag containing 1.6 kilograms of heavy fireworks in the Urkerbos. The bag contained Gigant Maroon fireworks rods with about 200 grams of flash powder per rod and was secured by a specialist clean-up service.

The municipality said an explosion could have caused fatalities and major damage to buildings and vehicles. Two reports differed on how the amount of flash powder compared with that in a Cobra 6, putting it at either four or eight times as much.
