Four police officers suffered hearing damage and were treated at an emergency department after disturbances over possible asylum seeker centre plans in the municipality of Neder-Betuwe, Mayor Jan Kottelenberg said. Protesters threw heavy fireworks at police during demonstrations in Opheusden and Kesteren.
