Halloween was observed in the Netherlands with decorations including artificial cobwebs, plastic skeletons and illuminated pumpkins. The holiday is celebrated on 31 October, the evening before All Saints’ Day on 1 November.

The tradition is becoming more widespread in the Netherlands, although Marianne Steenbergen and Erna van Veen are among those who are unhappy about its growth.
