Wood stoves have become more popular amid high gas prices. An industry association said the appliances being installed are mainly modern, cleaner models, while pulmonologist Ismé de Kleer disputed the idea that genuinely clean wood heaters exist and warned that inhaling particulate matter is directly linked to lung cancer.
