Most parties in the Goes municipal council opposed introducing a fine for entrepreneurs and property owners in the city centre to tackle vacancy. A motion by PRO and Nieuw Goes for a so-called stand-off charge was rejected on Thursday evening. One council member said a helping hand was missing.
