Girl with a Pearl Earring returns to the Mauritshuis

Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring was rehung at the Mauritshuis in The Hague on Monday morning after more than five weeks in Japan. The painting had been included in an exhibition in Osaka featuring works from the museum. The work returned to its usual place in the museum and was available to visitors from Monday afternoon. One report said its return was marked with a signed document.
