Artist Ger Leegwater, 81, has spent more than 40 years building an art garden in Winkel filled with imaginative buildings, sculptures and figures created from his own fantasy world. His work draws on both antiquity and contemporary life, including a recent sculpture of a woman with large lips and buttocks.

Leegwater uses materials that might otherwise be discarded. He looks for stones, tiles and metals in containers and from traders, and also receives many materials from private individuals. He says that using second-hand materials is preferable to buying new ones.
