On 19 July in Dordrecht, a pump worker raised the alarm after a customer identified as Yassin C. allegedly sprayed gasoline on the ground and produced a lighter. Police also heard him shout “Allahu akbar.” The public prosecutor said he wanted to blow up the gas station. His lawyer disputed that interpretation, arguing that throwing a banana or a can of Coke would have had the same effect.
